Hi, my name is Kayla , and I’m reaching out with an open heart to ask for your help during one of the most difficult times of my life.
I am currently on medical leave due to a work-related injury and receiving temporary disability payments of about $1,400 a month through workers’ compensation. Unfortunately, my employer misreported my weekly wages, which has greatly reduced my payments. This has made it nearly impossible to come up with my relocation costs.
As of today, my one-year-old son, my daughter, and I are staying in a hotel, but our stay is running out very soon. My previous landlord sold the property and did not allow us any additional time to secure a new place, forcing us to move out by the end of our 30-day notice.
I’ve contacted every local resource I could find — including The Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, 211 Sacramento, and county housing agencies — but all available programs are currently tapped out and unable to help with deposits or temporary housing.
I have a small amount saved, but it’s being used quickly in this situation. I’m asking for $3,800 to cover security deposit, first month’s rent, and moving expenses so that my children and I can move into a safe, stable home.
I’ve worked hard all my life in healthcare, and I’m hoping to return to work on modified duty soon, which will allow me to rebuild and stay self-sufficient. I’ve never been in a situation like this before, and asking for help is not easy — but I know that every bit of support brings us closer to stability and peace.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, donating, or sharing this campaign. Your kindness means more than words can express.
With gratitude,
Kayla
