Trust22 currently own and manage 6 defibrillators in Thorne and Moorends.
The financial outlay for a defibrillator does not end at installation. Defibrillators must be maintained to continue saving lives. Every time one is used we must replace the pads at a cost of around £70. Due to the amount our defibs are used, the batteries last around 3.5 years, and cost around £300 each. We need to maintain the first aid kits, and need to purchase a replacement defib for the Green, Thorne after this one was decommissioned. We intended to replace this one temporarily using existing stock at Moorends pavilion, but unfortunately this was lost during the fire and has not been covered by insurance. We also need to maintain a float in case of any malfunctions with our cabinets which are heated to protect the defibs in winter.
With 5 batteries to buy in the next year, plus the purchase and installation of a new defibrillator and cabinet, we're looking at a cost of around £5000.
Please help us to raise this amount and continue to maintain life-saving equipment within our community.
