“Trust Me”- A psychological thriller about a woman’s control over her own body.

Synopsis
Convinced by their long-time friends Chris and David, Emma and Matty have moved to a seaside town to embark on a new chapter together. While Emma focuses on job hunting and dreams of motherhood, Matty, a dedicated and successful junior doctor at the local hospital, is hard at work. Although Emma and Matty seem aligned in their desire to start a family, their relationship begins to reveal cracks under the strain of the pressure to conceive. Emma realizes that Matty's true nature differs from her expectations, especially when his reluctance to become a parent takes a troubling turn.

Why is this story important?
Emma represents the thousands of women who are still in the dark about their own bodies. We hope this film can raise awareness for women to take control of their own bodies and start learning about how to work with them. Women’s rights, control over their own bodies and the overturning of Roe v. Wade is what inspired this story. It’s a constant conversation, but usually, the decisions are taken out of the woman’s hands. Like Emma I want us to smash through this stereotype and take our power back.

The Money
Last year we superseded our goal and raised over £5000 in just 28 days. This meant we could afford an incredible equipment list from the fantastic UNIT BAG, including the privilege of shooting on an Arri Alexa Mini. We also were able to hire a van from Zoo Cars, pay for everyone’s travel, accommodation, meals and pay our cast and crew. None of this would have been possible without YOUR help.

We are ecstatic about the film we have made and believe our post production team deserves the exact same recognition and backing, as we witnessed through the production fundraising. We are now raising £3000 to fund our post production. The breakdown is just below to give you a clear idea of what we are asking for and why.

By supporting this film you are supporting every crew and cast members future career. We all work incredibly hard to create these worlds and characters for our audiences, and would love nothing more but to continue on this incredible journey. You can make that’s possible.

Our Vision- Marc-Antoine Turcotte
This project is a compelling story that aims to captivate audiences in an immersive, raw, and relatable narrative. We hope to bring this vision to life through a meticulous and simplified approach to cinematography that underscores the authenticity and emotional depth of the story.
As the story of Emma unfolds, the progression of the mood will be visually represented through a gradual domination of shadows in the environment. This shift will symbolize the metaphorical cage Emma realizes she is trapped in, visually expressing her growing sense of entrapment and despair. This visual metaphor is critical to the story’s emotional arc and will leave a lasting impact on the audience.
