This is Truffles, and he desperately needs your help.
On May 1, we found Truffles abandoned at our neighborhood park. He was injured with a badly infected paw. As well as having a bad paw, he was also much too skinny and in need of some TLC. Despite the pain that he was in, Truffles came to us and took the food and water that we offered. We contacted animal services and he was taken to the shelter in San Jose. Because of his resilience, we knew he was a survivor and we knew he needed our help. We also knew that we couldn't do it alone, so we contacted STAR (Support Team Animal Rescue). They stepped in and did what they do best - RESCUE! STAR made trips to the shelter to monitor his condition and performed behavioral evaluations.
Sadly, Truffles' condition took a turn for the worse, and it was clear that he was going to lose his paw. The incredible people who work for STAR rushed to his aid and took him to an animal hospital to have his back right leg amputated. Truffles would likely have died due to the extent of his injuries, but thanks to STAR he now has a chance at a new life.
Everybody who has met Truffles can see his gentle nature and sweet personality. This special boy is a true survivor. Please help us raise the $2000 that STAR needs to cover the costs of his treatment.
