12/18/18  Update - Again, THANK-YOU everyone for you generous contributions to the Truelson Family! We have exceeded our second goal of $15,000 within just 5 days of the $10,000 goal, so we are bumping up the goal even higher for this well deserving family.

12/12/18  Update- Thank you everyone for you generous contributions to the Truelson Family! We have exceeded our initial $10,000 goal and we could not have done this without all of your help. We went ahead and bumped the goal amount up even higher! Unfortunately, sometimes, money is what allows us time, and this family needs every second right now.

While at training for work in California about a month ago, our friend and colleague Melissa received a terrifying call from her husband, Wes, where he was speaking in jumbled words and broken sentences. He was calling from the waiting room of his eye doctor since he had been having vision issues and bad headaches for the past few weeks. The eye doctor recognized the severity of the situation and got Wes in an ambulance. Melissa immediately got on a flight home, praying for the best but preparing for the worst. CT and MRI scans identified a mass in Wes's brain and surgery was recommended. Mel and Wes sent their two young girls to spend the week with cousins, and headed down to the Mayo clinic for a second option. They met with a neurosurgeon who again recommended skipping the biopsy and going straight to surgery.  Wes's surgery was long and difficult. When they got the final pathology results back last week and it was not what they were hoping for, Wes had a Grade IV Glioblastoma brain tumor. After a week of rehab/therapy at Mayo, Wes is now back home. The girls are happy to have their daddy home however, Wes is still having difficulty finding words and feels confused most of the time.  After conversations with their doctors they are  in the process of adjusting medications and considering treatment options for Wes.

Melissa has been amazingly strong throughout the long last few weeks but she is only human and with two young girls to take care of the pressure is breaking her optimism. We are fundraising to help cover anticipated medial costs and to allow Melissa to take time off of work to care for Wes and the girls. Please consider donating to the Truelson family as the holidays are going to be really tough for them this year.  Anything that can be done to help make their time together as a family more special is appreciated.
