“True Love” is a thesis film written and directed by Elene Samadadze, a filmmaker based in New York City, currently in her senior year of studying film production at Brooklyn College.
“True Love” highlights the value of female friendships and how substantial their role in guiding each other through personal tragedies is–as imperfect and flawed as their guidance may be. Told through a comedic lens, “True Love” is a vulnerable representation of how heartbreak can make you irrational. A shift in perspective can pull you out of your misery; heartbreak can be funny. And in the name of girlhood, it’s no loss if it brings you closer to the ones who truly matter.
