Trudell Family's Road to Recovery

On July 6th we got the message all families have nightmares about. Jenna and Jeff Trudell were in a serious car accident in Suamico, Wisconsin. Calls to their cell phones went unanswered as they were unconscious or needed the “jaws of life” to free them from the wreckage. Fortunately Jenna was transported via ambulance to the hospital and after a few traumatic hours was discharged.

Unfortunately Jeff’s injuries were more severe. He required air transport to a Green Bay hospital. The initial ICU intervention was for stabilization; he has been through several subsequent surgeries which have included reattaching his pelvis to his spine. They removed his breathing tube on Tuesday and he was able to speak for the first time since the accident. He is currently in the ICU and will remain there until his next step of his recovery journey.

Obviously the Trudells (Jeff, Lynn, Jenna and Porter) are living day by day with the impact of this accident. Although Jeff’s prognosis is good (doctors expect a full recovery) it will be a bumpy road for a while. Immediate family members are supporting as they can with the essentials. However, it is becoming apparent the dollar impact of the following will be significant:

-Medical out of pocket costs

-Lost wages

-Ongoing insurance premiums (health and other)

-Automotive costs - the accident vehicle was totaled and a replacement (their 2nd family vehicle) will need to be purchased

-Countless other costs

Therefore, we are starting this “gofundme” page as many have asked how they can help. We hope in coming months to provide more information about how friends and family can provide food or other tangible support.
