Trucking costs for Sending Love to Paradise
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
As many of you know, my son James lost everything in the camp fire in Paradise California. In the midst of his unfortunate circumstances, he pleaded for help and not for himself, but for his town. His kind heart wanted me to do something for the 52,000 people who were now homeless and basically had the clothes on their backs. The hysteria and chaos that this town has endured is just unimaginable. Here one day and literally gone within minutes is their reality. So my mission began. I started a drive asking for support, new and gently used clothing, toiletries, pillows blankets, toys, suitcases, Rubbermaid containers, eyeglasses, walkers, diapers, gift cards, etc.
With the help of social media and wonderful people spreading the word, the DMV area has been generous beyond fault. Collecting was the easy part but, sorting and boxing was quite the challenge. With this 90% complete we are in need of some additional help.
We need to move this product to California asap. Originally we had someone who said they would handle shipping costs and this has unfortunately fallen thru. I’m asking everyone to please think of anyone who has a kind heart to help subsidize this trek across the country to Oroville California?
We have a 26ft. truck, driver, fuel, tolls, hotel stays and a flight home in our estimate. These are costs no profits involved. If we have extra money we will buy gift cards and give these to the families in need.
Do you know anyone who would outright fund this expedition to help all these families? Maybe even a few people who would donate funds to help this get out to California? No amount is too small. The people in Paradise appreciate all we are doing for them and we have even boxed some special boxes for families with specific needs. Many of them are leaving the shelters, finding temporary housing and really looking forward to getting more things to survive, finally a place to call home and get additional items to make a more normal life .
We appreciate all the donations, the people who gave their time and effort to sort, label and box the items. We are grateful for your kindness.
Now to ask again for help is a bit humbling, but I know their are so many kind hearted people who understand what these families are experiencing. Please help fund this truck load of items. We have enough to literally stuff a 26ft truck and we just need funds to help it go. Any donation amount helps. I truly appreciate all you can donate and thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God Bless you and may we all have a wonderful 2019!
