Troy Link’s medical bills and expenses

As many of us know, my dad Troy Link has been fighting throat cancer for a year now. He completed treatment in March and now he’s been diagnosed with a second tumor, this time in his esophagus. He was scheduled for a chemo port placement but before he could have that he was hospitalized twice and put on a vent for an obstructed airway. His throat has swollen up which is why he was retaining CO2 and couldn’t breathe. This is a side effect of the radiation he had in March. Now he has a tracheostomy, feeding tube and unable to work. He is in the hospital now but will be discharged either to a rehab facility or home with home care. Myself and his wife have been with him daily, but Dads bills are adding up and my step mom has worked very little the last month. The commute back and forth everyday, on top of how little that his insurance covers. We are hopeful he can come home with help from visiting nurses but they will need to alter the bathroom downstairs at the very least for that to be possible. If he goes to a rehab facility, that’s an hour drive at least for either of us and out of pocket cost for his room and therapy will be significant. It doesn’t matter if it was further than this, we would still be with him everyday by his side. My Dad is not anyone who has ever asked for any hand outs and I did have to explain that trying to raise funds is not asking for a hand out like he thinks. My Dad has always tried to help people anytime he could and now I want to help my Dad when he needs it more than ever. Even if you can’t help, sharing this is helping and much appreciated.
