This is my son’s story….
My Truck is Down — My Family Needs Me Back on the Road!
I’m a young Foundational Black American man whose hope, faith, confidence, and strength are in the Most High.
I’ve been doing everything I can to build a better future — for myself and for my family who depend on me. I worked hard at low-paying jobs to build my credit, start my own business, and invest in a dream I’ve been chasing for years. I went to school for trucking, learned the business, and sacrificed to buy my own truck — a good, solid truck — so I could provide for my loved ones.
But recently, my dream hit a roadblock. The wrong fuel was put into my truck. The mechanic told me labor alone will be around $2,000, and the total repair could reach $20,000. I’ve already spent months on the road — over two months straight — sleeping on my truck’s seats, with only a few days off, just to keep this dream alive.
This truck is my livelihood. Without it, I can’t work, and I can’t take care of my family. My biggest fear is letting them down.
I’ve always done my best to help others and avoid asking for help. But this time, I can’t do it alone. If it’s on your heart to give, no matter the amount, I am forever grateful. Your kindness will not only help me fix my truck — it will help me keep providing for those who count on me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
