We are team Truck Melanoma, and we are on a mission to spread melanoma awareness to the motorsports racing community.
We were inspired to start this project due to our experience working in dermatology and seeing the effects of melanoma first hand mixed with our passion for vehicles.
Our team is working along side of Start Seeing Melanoma to spread the message that “Melanoma stands out” to participate in the 24 Hours of Lemons races, which is a race series for regular people racing $500 dollar cars. Safety equipment such as roll cages, specialized racing seats, and fire-suppression systems are required and excluded from that limit, and we are working to raise funds for this necessary equipment.
Our race vehicle, is a 1996 Chevrolet S-10, dubbed LentiGO. A Lentigo is defined as a pigmented flat or slightly raised lesion with a clearly defined edge.
Through a very generous anonymous donor we were given the $500 to purchase our vehicle, but we still need support to help us fund the cost of the safety upgrades and race entry fees, and that is where you can join us in the fight against melanoma.
There is a 98% chance of survival when melanoma is treated at an early stage. This can decrease to as low as a 24% chance of survival with late stage melanoma that has spread.

Melanoma can start small, and grow larger, but it can also grow deeper into the skin, where it can
become much more dangerous.
