Tru Story - Fight Against RSV
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Autumn Johnson. I’m creating this go fund me on behalf of my dear friends and neighbors, The Hagler family.
Their son, Tru, became critically ill very suddenly on Monday. Maiyah called 911 in the middle of the night because Tru was unresponsive. She immediately began CPR until their arrival. The medics took over and gave him CPR until his arrival at the hospital. Tru was diagnosed with RSV. He is still unresponsive and on oxygen.
RSV is a life threatening illness to young babies. Tru is barely 3 months old and fighting for his life with a severe case of RSV. After diagnosis he was flown straight to Seattle Children’s to better manage this illness. His family is facing the unthinkable right now.
Like many families, they are struggling financially. They are unsure how long their baby boy will be at the Children’s Hospital. The drive to Seattle is nearly 2 hours away from home.
Troy and Maiyah are a family of 8. Their 2 oldest children are currently enrolled in school here in Bellingham. They also have 2 sets of twins. The first set of girl twins are just over 1 years old. The youngest set are boy twins, Tru and his brother Troy. All 6 children are currently sick. Both sets of twins have been diagnosed with RSV, that’s 4 children severely sick and one currently hospitalized. How is a family supposed to juggle all of this. How could they possibly? They need our help!
They are currently traveling back and forth to Seattle to be with Tru while also coming back each day to be with their children back at home.
They moved to Bellingham from New York leaving them with limited family support.
Their daughter Harmony (age 4) is also currently undergoing surgery for her spinal Scoliosis. Every 3 months she is back at Seattle children’s for a new surgery to adjust her spine. She has just undergone another surgery and is wearing a body cast.
To say this family has been through a lot is an understatement. Maiyah knows she will be bringing her son home. She will tell you that she has seen miracles unfold right before her eyes. She has always believed in the power of God, and his power to bring faith into her heart and family. When I asked her what she needed she told me “Prayers and support, I know I’ll be bringing my son home, I just know I will.”
This is the most selfless family that does not expect anything from anyone but if you can help relieve some of the burden it is greatly appreciated.
I am asking that we come together to support this family through a difficult time and help ease some of the financial pressure while their family fights together.
If you are unable to donate, please share. I’m hopeful this will reach as many people as possible. I’d love to help this family even if you could just send prayers for Maiyah, and her son Tru. Send love to this family, strength for everyday they wake up to continue this fight together. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for them. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for reading, it is truly the least I could do in this situation and I’d love for this to positively impact this family through these tiring times.
