Ken’s Recovery Journey

On February 10, 2023 Ken Duclos and his fiancé Andrea arrived in Charleston, SC to commemorate Ken’s long awaited college graduation. What was supposed to be a weekend of celebration turned into unexpected tragedy when Ken was struck by a car in a hit and run accident. He was rushed to the hospital and suffered multiple fractures to his right leg and facial bones. He currently remains hospitalized under sedation with a breathing tube and will undergo orthopedic surgery to mend the fractures to his tibia, fibula, and ankle, as well as facial reconstructive surgery for his broken orbital, mandible, and nose.

Ken is a United States Air Force veteran who served overseas on two deployments. He just graduated from The University of Arkansas Grantham with a bachelors degree in engineering technology. He is Notre Dame football’s #1 fan, has a big heart and loves making people laugh. Andrea and Ken are planning their wedding for October of this year.

The status of his prognosis is not yet known but his medical team is working around the clock to provide Ken with the best care possible.
