Troy's Fighting Chance

Donation protected
On January 1st 2018 I received the call that my brother Troy had been in an accident. We are still unsure of the cause of the accident, but what we do know is that he was found in the middle of the street barely breathing with his atv on top of him. He was taken by ambulance to the local ER where they intubated him and sent him to Utah Valley Medical Center via Life Flight with major head trauma. He was then taken into surgery to repair multiple skull fractures and to remove a small portion of his brain that was damaged beyond repair and causing to much pressure on his brain stem. We had no idea if he was even going to make it out of that operating room alive. He was induced into a coma to allow time for the swelling and pressure in his brain to come down. As I sat at his bedside holding his hand I prayed he would soon wake up.  He finally opened his eyes for the first time after 7 days of being in the ICU. The neurological damage is extensive and at this time the doctors are unsure of what Troy may or may not be able to do as his brain heals and time goes on.

After 3 surgeries and 18 days in the ICU Troy is going to be transferred to a Long Term Care Hospital where he will continue to be cared for until he is more alert and responsive. Once he is able to actively participate in physical therapy he will be transferred to a Neurological Rehabilitation Center to begin recovery.

The bills are piling up and this is just the beginning of this long road to recovery that Troy is on. Unfortunately, Troy does not have any medical insurance. I am doing everything within my power to make sure my brother is getting the care he so badly needs and deserves in order for him to have a fighting chance to make it through this terrible accident. The hospital is 2 hours away from where we live and the expense of traveling back and forth in order for my parents and I to take turns staying with him and going to work is becoming more and more difficult to manage.

Any amount you are able to donate or prayers on his behalf are greatly appreciated! Every little bit will help give my brother a fighting chance! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
