Troy's moving to Austin to become a preacherman!

Dear friends and family,

This Fall I am beginning a 3-year master's of divinity program at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. As a postulant in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, I have been charged by the bishop to pursue my theological studies before I can be ordained to the Episcopal priesthood.

In August, I will be moving from Waco to Austin to embark on this new journey in theological education and spiritual formation! After being a teacher for a decade, I'm looking forward to being a student again. I have so much to learn and so many ways to grow before I am ready to begin my ministry in the church. I'm very grateful for the Lord's provision of this opportunity.

While I'm excited to get started, I am also feeling the financial strain that this change will bring on me and Anna. It certainly feels like stepping out in faith. Anna will continue to work at Baylor and live in Waco, and I will live on campus in Austin. Having two separate households during the school year will be logistically challenging and require extra costs such as furnishing my new apartment.

First and foremost, I would appreciate your prayers. If that is all you can offer, I gladly receive them. I need them!
