Hi everyone! My name is Troy Evangelista , and I’m a sophomore at Monrovia High School. I’m actively involved in my church’s youth ministry and work part-time at a Kumon center, all while balancing school and playing volleyball. I have been so blessed this year to be surrounded by the people who God has placed in my life and have helped me grow as a person. One of my biggest goals for 2026 has been to step outside of my comfort zone and say yes to opportunities that challenge me to serve others and grow deeper in my faith. Along the way, I’ve learned how powerful it is to simply take that first step—to embrace the unknown and not let fear of change hold me back.
This year, God has been so gracious to provide me with this opportunity to go to Alaska for the organization Hope Worldwide (Hope Youth Corp) this summer. With this volunteer program, I will experience rural Alaska through hands-on farming and sustainability work while serving the Talkeetna community, food bank support, caring for Iditarod sled dog puppies, assisting elderly residents, trail maintenance and helping local businesses.
This opportunity means so much to me because it will allow me to grow not only as a leader but also as a person who can make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of others.
I’m working toward something really meaningful, and I could use your help to make it happen. I’m currently raising funds to cover travel, accommodations, and basic expenses for this trip, with a goal of $1,650 by April 26th.
If you’re able to contribute, even a small amount goes a long way and truly helps me get closer to this goal. I’m so grateful for any support you can give.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me
