Troy Rides 24 hour solo for the Trails

Hi my name is Troy Steigman. I have entered my first 24 hour solo mountain bike race on July 8th near Bend, Oregon. I am turning 50 in October and just want to see what I got in me and I wanted to de something good for others while doing it. Help me raise money for the trail builders, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. My goal is to compete for 24 hours, meaning ride most of the time without physical or mechanical issues. Its an 11 mile loop course mostly of single track and fire road with 750 feet of elevation gain and loss every lap. Looking up last years race stats competitors did anywhere from 11-22 laps. I am staying humble and hoping for 12. That would be 132 miles and 9000 feet of elevation gain in a 24 hour period. I will be pedaling along side other solo riders and teams of 2, 3 and 4. I am hoping to raise money for our local mountain bike club, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance - SW Chapter, so they can keep doing what they do to help bring us our amazing ever expanding trail systems. Raising money helps supply gas, rents machines, buys tools, feed the work crew and so many other things the trail building teams need. Its my way of trying to help out. I am hoping you will join me and my cause in donating some of your hard earned money. I will be donating $1000 to start it off. I don't expect that from others but every dollar counts. So even if its one dollar or maybe a dollar a mile or dollar an hour please help me out in helping them out. Thank you so very much your support means everything.

Well I did it....sort of. I finished with 10 laps, 110 miles in 20 hours and 20 minutes. I tapped out a little early but still feel pretty good about myself. Thanks to everyone who supported me through this and helped raise some money for our local trail team. I want to try and repost one more time now that I am done to see if we can raise a few more bucks before I wrap this gift up for the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance.
