A tribute for Troy Malatek
Troy David Malatek, 53, of Cedar Rapids, passed on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Prior to his death Troy struggled with issues related to mental health that impacted his ability to work and even maintain his health. We were unprepared for Troy's death. He was still young and we had hope that he would be able to overcome his struggles.
As a family we have always wanted Troy to have a beautiful life. That did not always happen. With your help we are hoping to give him a beautiful memorial that includes:
- Celebration of Life gathering will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids.
- A private family inurnment where Troy will join his mother at Oakland Cemetery in Solon, something he has always wanted.
- We also hope to plant a tree in his honor as he loved the outdoors.
- And family who will travel from hundreds of miles to be together at these events.
Troy incurred a number of health expenses in these past few years and he did not leave any insurance to help cover these costs. Any donations you give will be put towards celebrating the Troy who made us smile, volunteered to help, contributed to the community, cared for the planet, and was loved by many.
