Troy Johnson and his fight with cancer

Donation protected
Hello, this is Troy's daughter Kayla and I made this go fund me to help Troy and Melissa with medical and prescription expenses with his cancer diagnosis. Understand you have to set a goal amount to be raised. Nobody expects that amount, and anything at this point helps (pick a number any number is how I decided on 20,000). Troy was diagnosed earlier last month with poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, which is a very fast growing and aggressive form of cancer. After meeting with Dr's we were told he is considered terminal and is in stage 4.

This all started with left leg pain, that got to the point it was affecting his daily life and he wanted to get it checked out. From there we ended up at Aultman to get a biopsy of his leg, which ended up in a same day emergency visit to try and figure out some other issues that were present. We got tests, we went home without answers because of the wait times, and he ended back at Cleveland Clinic (Union) 2 days later. He was there for 2 day before he ended up getting life flighted (Troy hates to fly) to Cleveland Main for an emergency surgery to drain fluid around his heart. In the 12 days at Cleveland he ended up with many confused Dr's, 1 surgery to drain the fluid around his heart, and 1 surgery to drain the fluid around his lungs. His BP bottomed out, his oxygen levels were low, and he went through about every test (MRI, CT scan, labs, x-rays, ultrasounds) but nobody really new what the main issue was. You would have never known though, all he wanted was pizza and to watch the Buckeyes.

Upon leaving we got the cancer diagnosis but didn't know the extent of the cancer. Since then we have found out that he has cancer around the sac of his heart, lungs and most of his organs. He has additional spots on his lungs, kidneys, colon and surrounding the bone and on the bone of his left leg. The Dr's have let us know that the cancer could be other places but they are not going to poke at him to find out. He still has fluid building around his heart so he may need a future surgery in regards to that, but for the time being that is not needed. Please understand Troy and his wife Melissa did not want a timeline on this, but simply to be able to enjoy their time together however long that may be.

This diagnosis was shattering, it has left Troy in constant pain and unable to get around without the aid of a wheelchair, cane or walker. He is on multiple medications, and receiving shots as part of his everyday life. Every week there is a nurse visiting the home, and physical therapy being done. He also has began his treatments of radiation/chemotherapy this week and we are still waiting to see if he is able to take a chemo pill.

Troy has always been the friendly face in town, most of you know him from Dumont's. Being a huge sports fan, he has always been the one who could deliver a last minute hoody for Fridays night football game, to the guy who sized many of your kids shoes for sports. Right now he needs everyone's help, which is not Troy, but given the circumstances and not being able to return to work help is what he needs.

We appreciate each and every one of you, and your generosity in this hard time.
