If 2020 could not get any worse. Jessica’s husband Troy was on a roof last Thursday (19/11/20) when it caved in. He fell over 10 meters. Troy saved his life by managing to land on his feet, but he has sustained serious leg injuries. He has a shattered leg, 2 shattered ankles, 2 shattered heels and other substantial injuries. At this stage we are praying for the use of his legs and looking at a 1-2 year recovery.
With this sudden devastation and shock to the family this will require a significant investment in adjusting Troy & Jessica’s home for disability access which requires bathroom renovation, widened doorways for wheelchair access, and the purchase of disability items. Troy is unable to work to cover living costs and extra day care required for their son Chase. At this time it is unknown just how long it will take for an insurance claim to be made and processed.
Together with support of our family and friends we are reaching out to our community to help in this situation. We are coming to terms with this sudden change of life circumstances. It is a very scary and unknown time for us and we would do anything at this point to assist Troy, Jessica and Chase through this difficult situation, and most of all provide Troy with any means of comfort given the severity of pain he is currently suffering.
With costs adding up we would be more than grateful to get support for at least half of the budgeted costs. This is a very difficult thing to do right now, but we would be more than blessed with any support. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
