Troy Elliott's Accident & Surgery Recovery Fund

Donation protected
As many of you know, my brother Troy Elliott was involved in a serious auto accident (his vehicle was struck by a moose). He under-went open heart surgery to replace his aorta on October 15, 2021. Troy is currently in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Vancouver General Hospital for two weeks. Once stable, he will transfer to Victoria Hospital for longer-term care.

Troy and Sabrina are active members of our cultural/ceremonial community. They embody what it means to be Cowichan, and have always worked tirelessly to teach their children and others about what it means to walk in a good way. Even in his most dire hour, Troy wanted to make sure that the meat continued to get processed to ensure that his family and his community got fed. And here’s our opportunity to lift him up in the same way.

Troy will be out of work for at least 6 months. His wife, Sabrina, and other members of our family are staying in Vancouver to be there with him. Troy and Sabrina have 8 children, with 6 at home (including their foster child!). During this time, they are accruing significant, unexpected costs, including loss of wages, lodging and food, gas and ferry fare, rent and other monthly expenses, a need for new wheels (as his hunting truck is TOTALED), and other medical and daily incidentals.

If you are able to contribute to their expenses during this time, it would be greatly appreciated. We raise our hands to you during our time of need.
