HELP PROTECT TROUT IN A TIME OF DROUGHT
Network with us at Patagonia Boston on Nov 15th - 7:30 - 9:00 PM. Please donate to reserve your tickets here. The last event was a sellout!
Support cold water preservation by coming to our event, making a donation or spreading the word about protection of critical water resources.
Patagonia has graciously offered their store after hours and Ipswich Ale Brewing will provide complimentary refreshments, including a beer (pils) specially developed to support the Ipswich Watershed Association.
The following image shows a dried up Ipswich River headwaters due to the near-historic ongoing drought.
Ipswich River headwaters look like a dusty dirt-road due to drought and water withdrawal. The river’s resources – as a fishery, for recreation, and as a water supply - are being severely tested.
Many rivers in Massachusetts are drying up due to drought conditions and water withdrawal. Most fish - if they are not gone completely - are extremely stressed. Your support can help save and preserve these threatened waters and preserve their natural beauty, resources, and ecology.
What can we do to save critical water resources?
Come to the event to see how you might help.
Speakers will include:
Adam Kautza, MassWildlife's new cold water biologist
Wayne Castonguay, Executive Director, Ipswich River Watershed Association
Julia Blatt, Executive Director, Mass Rivers Alliance
Location: Patagonia Boston, 346 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02115
Due to the work of Cold Water Cold Beer partners including Greater Boston Trout Unlimited, Sea Run Brook Trout Coalition and Biodiversity for a Livable Planet, your support will be leveraged by countless volunteer hours focused on stream restoration, fish monitoring, habitat cleanup and the outreach and education that helps develop conservation-minded use of the few remaining waters that support wild trout.
Your donations are very important to us. If you wish to support sponsoring organizations and cannot attend - or wish to learn more you can join or make a donation to the participating organizations.
