Hello! We are Zig Zag & Cheeba; proud owners of Troupe Inc.; and we have big plans... But before we tell you about them, allow us to tell you a little bit about who WE are. We are two ambitious, hardworking hippies with big dreams and hearts of gold. We met at a public pool in the summer of 2018 through a friend neither of us (ironically) associate with anymore. That day, we never expected we would be creating this GoFundMe, for what will be our most ambitious project to date... Cheeba was kind, independent, and ambitious. She had just graduated college with a four-year degree. She was renting a room downtown, stressing about student loans, waiting tables, and dreaming of something more. Ziggy was a cool, alternative hip hop artist from Wildwood, NJ. He started out in music at a very young age, from private singing lessons, to choir, to drama club; he immersed myself in anything with a tune. During his late teens/early twenties, Ziggy went through some really dark times that will stay with him forever. From drug abuse, to mental health, to recovery, to heartbreak. And somehow, that broken soul had the biggest smile, the funniest jokes, and the best attitude. We clicked immediately, and have been inseparable ever since. Troupe Inc. was a concept Zig Zag created in 2013 as an outlet for artists like himself, who had no knowledge or connections to the proper channels for promotion, booking shows, sharing music, etc. The word “Troupe” is defined as: A group of dancers, actors, or other entertainers who tour to different venues. This was the perfect embodiment for what Ziggy was trying to convey to the art community. At first, Cheeba wasn’t sure if this was a serious venture for Zig, or just a “hobby”. After a few short months of knowing each other, she saw that he wasn’t messing around. Cheeba accepted a position with Troupe Inc. and dove headfirst into the business. We did pro bono work for almost six months until Troupe Inc. started booking paid work. In 2019 we worked at three music/arts festivals as media. Despite payment, we often ended up spending money out of pocket to make the trips happen. Through it all, we always give 100% to the job at hand, regardless of compensation. We know our work ethic will speak for itself. Today, Troupe Inc. is an independent music promotion and production company founded on the principal of love and positivity, over greed and power. Our business model consists of promoting and creating musical art from all over the world! We spend hours, everyday, creating new music, filming/photographing new content, interviewing bands, sitting down with artists, editing videos, writing articles, etc., purely for the love of the music. Our main goal is to build those around us, not use them as stepping stones. The difference between us and most, is that we want you on the same podium as us when we finish at the top. A year and a half later, we are preparing to embark on the biggest journey of our lives. We have decided to leave everything behind and start a new life in California. However, we’re not just moving there—we’re BACKPACKING the whole way!! Yes, we know, this idea may seem crazy and outlandish to some, but life is about experiences and taking risks! Don’t worry, we heavily researched the state/area before coming to the determination we would like to live there. We are aware of the cost of living, and have several homes that we are looking to apply for. We’re also frequent campers, so we know our way a bit around the elements. Respectively, we’ve both always dreamed about a life in California. Being on the East Coast, we have the opportunity to see the entire country while traveling. To trek the country coast to coast is monumental, and we plan to achieve that goal. Today, we are young, healthy, and there is no better time like the present. We’re taking Troupe Inc. to the entertainment capital of the world, where we plan to continue working hard and helping those around us succeed. Along with Troupe Inc., Ziggy hopes to start a job in the medicinal marijuana industry and Cheeba hopes to start a career at a nonprofit organization or local government. The goal is to be successful; allowing us to eventually buy property and pursue happiness, as well as new business ventures. We’ve already begun charting our walking route, and getting a few of our supplies... but that’s where we need your help. The journey is expected to take us about three months; from Frederick, Md to Los Angeles, Ca. Despite not paying rent during this time, our expenses are high. We’ll need a storage unit to hold our belongings, people to take care of our animals, and proper long-distance trekking gear. That’s not including mandatory monthly bills (phone, credit cards, etc), security deposit for new house, and moving our belongings over to us. Of course, we’re not going to ask you to cover all of our moving costs!! We are moving on our own, and know that we have to save every penny. So we’re reaching out to the fam, friends, and supporters to see if you can help support our movement as well! $3,000 to help us specifically with the trekking part of the journey (Emergency Uber’s, Emergency Hotels during a storm, food restocks, etc.) Our overall goal is to spend as little money as possible, and spend as many nights under the stars as possible. We understand that times are tough, and we really appreciate any little bit! We hope our dreams inspire you, and thank you once again for supporting our journey. Even if you can’t support financially, sharing this campaign and the emotional support is also just as good! We love y’all.
