Help Fallon Raise $50,000 to Grow and Expand Tropical Origins Haircare
Dear Community, Family, Friends, and Supporters,
During a recent interview for a $25,000 grant with a local nonprofit supporting Black women and people of color in Tulsa, OK, I was told something that stuck with me:
"The natural hair care market is oversaturated."
I paused—and responded with conviction:
Tropical Origins isn’t just another hair care brand.
We are a 100% Black-owned, woman-owned business based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a mission to serve our community with clean, intentional, herbal-infused hair and beard care. We sit at the intersection of herbalism, wellness, and clean beauty offering alternatives to the harsh ingredients found in far too many “ethnic” and mainstream products, many of which are created by non-Black conglomerates profiting from a market built by Black consumers. Our products are crafted with love, rooted in ancestral wisdom, and designed to restore and protect the beauty of natural hair and beards for people of all textures and backgrounds.
Since founding Tropical Origins in 2019, I’ve poured my heart, soul, creativity and hard-earned income into this vision—entirely out of pocket. No grants. No loans. No outside investors. Just hard-earned income from my full-time jobs and an immeasurable amount of sweat equity poured back into my brand. With my expertise in herbal formulations and a deep understanding of ancestral personal care, I’ve created products designed to truly nourish and celebrate our crowns.
This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been driven by purpose—a deep commitment to creating something real, authentic, and rooted in tradition.
Many of you have been with me since the very beginning, supporting Tropical Origins as loyal customers. Others I’ve had the pleasure of meeting at local pop-ups, markets, and community events. Your support means everything to me.
This is more than business. It’s a labor of love and a movement to uplift our crowns, our culture, and our legacy.
Thank you for believing in this vision and helping it grow.

This is about more than business—it’s about legacy. It’s about creating safe, non-toxic, affordable hair and beard care that uplifts our communities and celebrates our roots.
And as a new mother, this mission has taken on even greater meaning. Every bottle I create, every sale I make, is part of a bigger dream for my daughter to grow up seeing her mother build something that nourishes, empowers, and heals. Tropical Origins is not just for me, it’s for her, and for every little one watching us show up, build boldly, and honor our roots.
The market isn’t oversaturated. It’s underserved. And Tropical Origins is here to meet the demand with love, integrity, and plant-powered wellness.
Sincerely,
Fallon L. Dickson
