Last night Tropical Cyclone Yasa hit Fiji - one of the worst in history. Most people have lost their homes, their roofs blown away in the middle of the night and their belongings all gone. Around 95% of the population have been affected. The Government is doing the best they can with setting up Evacuation Centres but rebuilding small villages with nothing is impossible. This is a desperate plea for help for people in crisis. With many people living in rural villages, access to the the emergency centres and neighbours is also limited. In amongst the major relief programs that will be stepping up during this time, we seek out to raise funds especially for the community in Tuvurara, where the money will be put toward assisting families with rebuilding their homes and boats so they can eventually return back to their lives.
We are most blessed to be living in countries that have the capacity to support us during times of need. Sadly, many people don’t share the same fortune and every little bit we can do to help from here will go a long way. Thank you for your empathy and generosity during this most devastating time.
