Tropical Cloud Forest Feline Research

In our cloud forest reserve La Hesperia tucked in the Ecuadorian Tropical Andes and Chocó-Darien bio-regions we share our life with thousands of species. We have dedicated 3 generations to the protection and maintenance of this land's essence. In 2009 we created Tangaré Foundation to promote and strengthen our reach towards people as passionate and committed to the learning and protection of this land as we are! Together, we promote conservation, research and sustainable development through education and training for international and local members of our community.

Our current priority is to create awareness and educate people about feline species that maintain the balance in our delicate ecosystem. We intend to do this through biological monitoring. We will not only understand feline species' behavior but also understand the interaction among them providing us with more information to better protect this species and its environment.

With the money raised in our previous fundraiser, we were able to buy 8 wildlife monitoring cameras. With this fundraiser, we hope to increase the number of camera memories, battery back-ups and other materials that will ensure we have appropriate materials for the duration of our long-term research
