We are the Patel/ Desai family. During my recent trip to India, I met a friend I hadn't seen in about 36 years. As I got to know her and her kids, I was in a state of shock!
She had suffered through many crises in her life and it brought her to a point where she could no longer afford to take care of herself and her children. When I met her she did not have the means to educate her son and daughter. The son was forced to drop out of university after his first year due to lack of funding and the daughter is in 6th grade.
As education is a top priority in our home I was compelled to do something about it. For starters we paid for the little girl's tuition for the current term. I have also encouraged the son to enroll back in the university. He has already finished the appilcation process and will require funding.
I would like to set up this fund for her two kids and any other children in need of financial aid for education and are not able to afford it. I would also like to assure you that the funds will go directly to the educational facility and pay towards their tuition and not to the family.
I would also require a pledge from the student who will be receiving this aid to contribute back to this fund once their education is completed and they are themselves earning.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help. Please help us by spreading the word.
