Trixie and I Need Help
Donation protected
Dearest Dog Loving Friends,
Trixie and I are in need of your love and support. She has started down the same road my poor Ralphie headed down and lost his life. I believe now, that is a
treat I gave both of them, (Ralphie shortly before he got sick and Trixie 3 days ago). I won't name the brand right now, but know that I am very particular about what I feed my cats AND dogs.
At our veterinary visit this morning, Trixie shows an obstruction on X-Ray and blood work shows decreased platelets. I wanted surgery, but the vet recommend we wait due to low platelet count (it was triple checked). She has vomited twice and had two episodes of very bloody diarrhea, which is NOT normal for her.
I prepped my collie, Echo, to be a donar for his beloved Trixie, and being a vet tech, I pre-shaved them for their procedures. Upon shaving Trixie, I see that she has bruising on her abdomen, showing her reduced platelet count. I am beyond worried and cannot bare the thought of losing another beloved pet. Please pray for my Trixie. I
will be starting a Go Fund Me page to hopefully help with her surgery. If you are able to help monetarily, I will be eternally grateful. If you would like to donate directly to the veterinary clinic, I will Private Message you their information . Today's visit was over $500, surgery with transfusion and hospitalization could be over $2,000. I am not good at asking for help, except of my very closest friends, and it is extremely difficult to ask at this time.
Update: the vet we saw may not be able to do blood/platelet transfusions. We are looking into other Specialty/Emergency Clinic from Duluth/Minneapolis/Greater Milwaukee Area.
Trixie is a Rescue Collie that was given to me because she needed extensive care and daily bandaging from a wound on her foot. She is so sweet and loving. A true kind and gentle soul. If I lose her, I will never be the same. Please help if you can. I will update when I figure out where we are going.
