Hello friends and family,
I am writing today to start a fund for Triton. Triton has a rare neurological discorder called Moebius Syndrome that makes it impossible for him to smile or moves his eyes left or right. He did not walk until the age of 4 and at 13 he still doesn not communicate verbally. He will most likely never drive or be able to care for himself independently.
He is the most loving boy a family could ask for. However, as he continues to grow it is very obvious that he will most likely not be able to function alone and will require care at all times. While most Moebius children and adults do function within a normal mental capacity, Triton is significantly delayed. Unfortunately with such a rare diagnosis most medical insurances do not cover most of the services and equipment he could benefit from.
There are strollers that we would love to provide him and those are in the $7500 range. There is Occupational Therapy and behavioral training. The list is endless. As he is getting older we are facing self hygeine issues. I need help to try and make improvements.
It is also inherently obvious that we will not always be around to care for him so I want to set something up so that when we are gone he is not left alone in a facility. I want to make sure that he is cared for and loved the way we do. I want him to always be safe and feel love.
We are reaching out to everyone to help us join in to support Triton and provide him the things he needs to live life to his fullest potential. At the same time setting up a fund that we can be assured he will always be cared for.
This would mean the world to us! We are lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. I know a lot of you are sometimes at a loss as to what you can do to help so this would mean the world to us so thank you in advance.
