Triston's Smile
One week ago, my 15 year old brother was standing next to the drop-inbowl at the skatepark when he was pushed by someone face first into it. He slammed his face into the concrete at the bottom of the bowl. He now has a fractured jaw, broken nose and lost the complete front four teeth in his upper jaw. His bottom row of teeth were crushed down into his bottom gums, which punctured his sinus roots. Once the person that had pushed him realised what he had done, he left my brother face down in the skate bowl, his face pouring out with blood & ran. My brother spent the following 48 hours in hospital having emergency surgeries, getting concrete pulled from his gums.
The medical procedures that must take place in my brother's future are extensive. He has already had three dental surgeries that have cost my mum over $4000. My brother has no remainder of his four front teeth, meaning that veneers are completely out of the question. He must now travel to a specialist in Brisbane, where he will undergo a bone graph taken from his body, in order to make him a new set of front teeth. Before this can happen, my brother must make a full recovery with his jaw alignment, gum reconstruction and closure of his punctured sinus.
Those who know my brother, will know that he is the most undeserving person of such circumstances. To say that this has been a traumatic experience for him is an understatement. This situation is affecting every part of his life, from not being able to eat food, to falling behind in his school work because he is terrified to smile. It is affecting his mental wellbeing, and it is heart breaking for me to have to watch my brother endure this at such a fragile age.
Please help us give my brother his smile back. We are asking for any sort of donation, whether its a dollar or 100 dollars.. we are desperate.
His future surgeries, treatments and medical care all pend upon finances that myself and my mum can not accomodate for. Please share this, or if you know of someone who is able to donate please ask them.
We appreciate you for taking the time to read this, please help us!
