Hi I'm Andria, and I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging times of my cousin Trista's life.
Over the past year, she has been battling intracranial hypertension, a condition that causes dangerously high pressure around her brain and spinal cord. In an effort to manage it, she underwent brain surgery to place a stent that would help regulate her spinal fluid pressure. Unfortunately, the procedure wasn’t successful—and her symptoms have persisted.
Now, she is scheduled for a second brain surgery on September 11th to have a VP shunt placed. This is a more invasive procedure, and one of the hardest parts is that it will require her to lose all of her hair. While she knows this step is necessary for her health, it’s still an emotional and physical journey that she is preparing for.
Trista is a deeply caring person—someone who would do anything for anyone. She finds peace in the mountains and joy in spending time with her family. They are her heart, and her kids are her greatest motivation. Knowing they need her keeps her going, even on the hardest days. The support she has received from friends, loved ones, and kind strangers has been a powerful source of strength.
Between medical bills, recovery time, and the emotional toll of this experience, she is asking for help. Your support will go toward:
Surgery and hospital costs
Post-op care and medications
Wigs, head coverings, and personal care during recovery
Living expenses while she is unable to work
Any amount helps, and even if you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to Trista. She is doing everything she can to stay strong and hopeful, and your kindness gives her the strength to keep going.
Thank you for being part of her journey.
