Tristan Needs A New Heart
Donation protected
Life has definitely thrown this young man a few curve balls. Tristan McDermott Miller is a 21 year old music loving, kind of quiet and humble young man. He is the oldest of two boys. He is very close to his younger brother Kieran. Oh, and he LOVES Star Wars and Avengers.
If you know him, you know he is aways caring for everyone else.
His heart is so big for other people, which is why the fight he faces right now is so daunting.
Tristan needs a new heart, and he is on a waiting list to get a new one. This situation has grown dire and is very fluid at the moment.
It's been a rough two years for him and his family. On September 4, 2018, Tristan had a defibrillator implanted and it has failed a few times. On October 25, in the middle of the night, he went into ventricular fibrillation. The implant shocked him and saved his life. The 1same thing happened again on January 19. Making matters so much more stressful for Tristan was that his Aunty Jenn passed away from addiction and mental illness earlier in 2018. He has been trying to be strong for his family and it hasn't been easy, especially when you're told you need a new heart. These times can be seemingly unbearable.
Tristan is unable to work. He is currently "Type 3" on a waiting list. He could receive the call any day, any hour or any minute. When that call comes, he will have two hours to prepare, pack and get himself to Toronto when doctors will scrub in and give him his new heart.
And in Tristan's case, being the caring person he is, he understands what is required in order for him to get a new heart. But he perseveres. We believe that will happen, but we are asking for your help.
Tristan isn't comfortable with making things about himself. As a matter of fact, Tristan is most worried about his family and how they are dealing with this dire circumstance.
We believe Tristan's heart is so big from worrying about others, that it's just time for a new one.
If you can't afford to donate, that's okay. We would appreciate if you can send prayers or well wishes. At this time, he is quite sick and needs strength for doctor appointments and is naturally feeling very anxious about his future. He is now under 100 pounds and struggling to keep food down.
He's reviewing a lot paperwork to see what medications he could be covered for. Tristan has taken a medical leave from his job and really needs financial help. He will need to go to Toronto every week for two months after he gets out of hospital but won't be strong enough to take transit. In fact, he will not be able to do any public transportation because his immune system will be weakened by the anti-rejection medications.
Tristan has many dreams he would like to achieve and has done everything he can with the cards life has dealt, but its time for a new hand, a helping hand to get him a new healthy heart. He is also an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and is eager to see how they will perform in this year's NHL playoffs.
Tristan is grateful for the love and support and wants to thank his little brother for always being by his side.
Sincerely,
ANDREA CHRISTMAS and BECKY MISNER
