Dear friends and family of Tristan Holmberg. Our beloved son and and dear friend Tristan Holmberg passed away on April 06, 2021 at the age of 41, peacefully at home in BC. Tristan was full of life and laughter and enjoyed being around people to the fullest extent. He would never shy away from an opportunity to converse, express and depict his thoughts and opinions. He loved making people laugh, he loved to challenge opinions and debate, and he was always able to do it in such a unique, charming, affectionate and endearing way. Tristan was a talented and genius digital creator who cared deeply about his work and how it would impact people in the most positive way possible. He was very proud of his creations and professional contributions, and everyone around him appreciated his talent and drive to learn, grow and succeed.
The Covid 19 pandemic put an immense strain on Tristan's opportunity for social interaction. Being single, and having to endure multiple lock-downs only made matters worse. The pandemic however opened up the opportunity to work remotely, and so Tristan decided to move out west to BC to be closer to friends from his youth. This was a time of renewal and happiness for Tristan and we are comforted knowing his friends were there to support him.
Tristan did not have many encumbrances but he did have credit issues that he was working on retiring and a new car with an outstanding loan. His death outside of his birth province of Ontario has created a number of expenses which require urgent attention. He did have term insurance through his employer, however without a final Will and Testament nor did he own any property, and the insurance is left to the estate. This is a complex problem and it will take some time to resolve the estate issues (months or maybe more than a year) since it involves his natural mother who lives in the US, two different provincial jurisdictions and other probate issues.
Right now, dealing with the expenses which are still up in the air and this is our immediate challenge. Here is a list of the known current expenses:
Rent and Personal Loans: $ 2,500
Funeral expenses: $ 1,100
Lawyer fees: $ 5,000
Recovery & Transportation of
personal belongings: $ 1,100
Future memorial $ 3000
_______
$12,700
Tristan's father Martin Holmberg will be responsible for making the disbursements to cover these immediate expenses, and once the estate issues are resolved, the amount raised from this fund will be donated to a charity which is to be chosen and announced in due course, along with details about his memorial.
You can imagine the financial and emotional strain of this untimely death is pretty wearing on an older couple. We sincerely thank all who participate in this financial memorial to Tristan. He is certainly deserving of your support.
In sympathy and appreciation,
