Hi, my name is Kristi McKenna. My sister, Trish Montrone, was diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma, nodular type on the back of her thigh in January 2016. In March she had her first surgery to remove the melanoma & biopsy her lymph node. The biopsy tested positive. Trish had her second surgery, a lymph node dissection in April. In June she started IV treatments with the drug Yervoy. Trish will continue the IV treatments for a minimum of 1 year. Since starting her IV treatments, she has had flu like symptoms, hyperthyroid then hypothyroid, she has adrenal insufficiency (Addison's Disease) and lymphodema. Three weeks ago she had an infection and was hospitalized for 5 days, she is now prone to infection because of the lymph node dissection and her compromised immune system. Trish is a self-employed single mother of two sons. One is in college and the other is a sophomore in high school. It has been challenging for Trish to focus on her recovery with the day to day worry of her living expenses and medical bills. We appreciate your prayers for her continued recovery and are thankful for any amount you can give to get her through this difficult time. God Bless.
