Hi, I’m Trish, a single mom to two amazing boys—Elias (9) and Maverick (8). I’m facing my second brain surgery due to Chiari malformation—a rare and painful neurological condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. This condition has deeply affected my life, and now, as I prepare for another major surgery, I’m reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times of my journey.

Last year on July 23rd, I had my first brain surgery in hopes of relief. Sadly, scar tissue formed afterward and is now tethering my brain to my spinal cord and my original incision site. This has renewed and worsened my symptoms, and my doctors say a second surgery is the only way to remove that scar tissue and untether my brain.

As a mom, the hardest part is knowing I can’t fully be there for Elias and Maverick while I’m recovering—and I can’t work during this time. I’ll need several months to heal, plus additional follow-up appointments and physical therapy.
