UPDATE 1/11/25

Trisha continues to be the strongest person I know. She has been through so much over the last couple years and has made great progress and has remained positive and maintained her great sense of humor.

However, a couple months ago Trisha started to experience some concerning new symptoms. Initially she began having some difficulty with memory but then it progressed to her frequently losing track of time and even showing up over an hour late to appointments that she thought she was running on time for. In addition she also began to experience some left sided weakness along with increasing fatigue which led to her becoming increasingly exhausted.
Due to these issues arising, Trisha went to see her team of doctors in Seattle.
They found Trisha had an increase in swelling in her brain. Her doctors told her that she likely had post radiation swelling in her brain. As a result of the radiation treatment she received, tissue in the area had become inflamed and swollen, leading to the symptoms she was now experiencing.
Post radiation swelling is not an uncommon side effect, but it requires treatment with large doses of steroids that have to be taken for many weeks to months before any improvement happens.
in Trisha’s case it seems to be that it may take many months before she will see results.
So. In the meantime Trisha has been unable to work due to both her side effects of the swelling along with the nasty side effects that come with having to take large doses of steroids.
We are asking for you to again help Trisha CONTINUE to ‘F Cancer.”

As I have said previously Trisha is one of the smartest, most insightful, sharp witted, and charmingly honest people you’ll ever meet. Trisha has a one of a kind personality that draws people to her, and once you know her, you will always love her.
So many people love Trisha and want to help her continue to focus on getting well without any extra stress. As Trisha needs to again focus on fighting this latest battle she still has bills to pay, groceries to buy, along with all the other expenses of daily life.
Trisha has brought so much joy to the lives of those that know her.

This is our chance to continue to support our amazing friend that, we all love so much, as she continues to fight. ❤️❤️❤️

We are creating this fund to help support Trisha (Turner) Escudero, our treasured friend and co-worker, so she can focus her energy on fighting cancer without any extra financial worries.
Trisha is one of the smartest, most insightful, sharp witted, and charmingly honest people you’ll ever meet. Trisha has that one of a kind personality that draws people to her, and once you know her, you will always love her.
Camping, fishing, slot machines and Coors Light are a a few of the many things Trisha loves that come to mind when I think of her.
Trisha is a mother, daughter, sister, nurse, and friend who grew up in Milton Freewater, OR. She has been a nurse for more than 15 years. Trisha is known to be one of the smartest, most effective and helpful nurses to both her co-workers and patients.
A couple months ago Trisha had her whole world turned up side down. Trisha started having severe headaches which were so bad they interfered with her ability to go to work and function as normal. By early September her headaches were so bad she began having blurry vision and nausea so severe she went to the ER. It was at that visit that Trisha was first told that there was a ‘mass’ in her brain. A mass so large it was taking up 1/5th of the space in her skull.
After meeting with her local neurosurgeon she was told the mass needed to be removed as soon as possible. On Sept 14th Trisha underwent a long, stressful surgery in Seattle to remove the tumor. The tumor was then sent to pathology to find out exactly what it was.
Trisha’s recovery after brain surgery has proven to be challenging as her body works to heal from undergoing such a big trauma. Her headaches have continued and she’s been hit so hard by exhaustion that she hasn’t been able to work or enjoy doing the many activities she loves.
This past week Trisha again drove the long 5 hour trip to Seattle for her surgical follow-up. It was at this most recent appointment that Trisha was told that the tumor they removed was a grade 4 Astrocytoma.
Over the next weeks and months Trisha will have to make multiple 10 hour round trip drives to Seattle for appointments, get enrolled in new clinical trials, start aggressive treatments with unpredictable side effects, all while continuing to need lots of rest as she continues to heal from surgery along with the treatments.
As Trisha starts facing all these new challenges, she will still need to continue paying bills, buying groceries, and paying for all the other expenses of daily life.
The hope is, by donating to Trisha’s ‘F Cancer’ fund, we can come together to help alleviate some of the financial stress our friend will face.
We want Trisha to be able to get lots of rest, and be able to spend quality time with her beloved children, Aspen and Owen, as well as her father, siblings and boyfriend while they navigate through the months ahead.
Trisha has brought so much humor, fun and friendship to so many people. This is our chance to show our support for her and how much she means to all of us ❤️
