Our sweet friend needs your help!
Trish has been a great support to me over the years and I know she's been one for you as well. Please contribute what you can. Cancer, even with insurance, is costly.
Here's her story,
On April 26, 2025, I went to the ER with intense pelvic pain. After scans and consultations, I was referred to oncology due to a suspicious mass in my uterus and cervix. Just days later, on April 30, I received the devastating news: it’s cancer.
On May 5, I underwent surgery to biopsy the mass. While under anesthesia, my medical team removed a tumor the size of a baseball from my cervix. Afterward, Dr. Bottsford Miller confirmed I have a rare and aggressive form of cancer—a high-grade spindle cell sarcoma. This diagnosis is complex and uncommon, requiring highly specialized treatment. Final pathology to name the cancer is still pending.
A multidisciplinary tumor board in Bozeman reviewed my case. While some care like radiation and immunotherapy can happen locally, my tailored treatment plan and any future surgeries must take place at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City—a six-hour drive from home. Huntsman is one of only four places in the U.S. equipped to treat this cancer, and it’s also the only one offering help despite my lack of insurance.
My doctors believe the cancer is still localized; a CT scan showed it hasn't yet spread to my lungs or lymph nodes. I will undergo a PET scan on May 19 to check for spread to other areas. Time is critical, as this form of cancer is known to progress rapidly.
I’m humbly asking for your support with transportation and travel costs. Getting to Salt Lake City regularly for treatment, procedures, and follow-ups is essential to giving me the best chance at fighting this disease. Every dollar helps—whether it covers gas, lodging, or even a meal during long trips.
