Trip to the White House

This school year, prompted by the efforts by students, Grant High School hosted schoolwide talks about race sparked by racist incidents at the school. A part of these talks was a video filmed by Mackie Mallison and Finn Hawley-Blue discussing race and the presence of racism at Grant.

Along with Dylan Palmer and Khiarica Rasheed, we submitted our film to the White House Student Film Festival. We recieved an email recently that our film was selected and we are invited to the White House from October 1st-4th 2016 to show our film! As of now, we don't know if won the festival, but it is in the running and we are hopeful!

We are looking for help with funding for flights, board, and cost of food. In order to get all four of us there, we are looking for outside support. If you decide and are able to donate, thank you so much! We feel like this is an opportunity that we can't miss, and anything will help us get there!

Thank you to all who previously donated! We reached our goal, but have decided to raise it in hopes that other expenses such as room and board for all of us will be something we can pay for.
