Help me get to Santander, Spain!

Hello, my name is Noelle Buske and I am currently a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Asheville and am planning on majoring in Spanish and minoring in art. My Spanish professor recently presented an amazing opportunity to me: to go abroad and work in Santander, Spain, as an au pair this summer. For those who do not know, an au pair is someone who goes abroad to live with a host family and provides child care in return for room and board. In addition to this, au pairs are typically paid weekly for their services. However, au pairs do not get paid much and the plane tickets to Spain are very expensive. This is where I need help! As a full-time college student, I do not have the sufficient funds to pay for my plane ticket myself. Plane tickets to Santander typically cost no less than $1,300, so my goal is to reach $1,500 to ensure I cover all the expenses. I have already agreed to work for two families this summer in Santander, Spain, from June 1st to August 6th. With both families, I will be caring for a seven year old girl. I've been in love with learning Spanish ever since I began this incredible journey in high school and it has already taken me to so many unexpected, amazing places. I hope to continue to learn and grow within the language and believe this trip to Spain will help me do just that! Not only will I be surrounded by the language, I will be completely immersed in the culture as I am living with Spanish families and constantly interacting with them. I'm also an artist who loves to take photographs and since Spain is so beautiful, it will be an incredible, inspiring place to practice my craft.  I can't wait to see what I create while I'm there! I think I will be starting a photo blog to document and share my journey. I am so, so excited about this trip and don't want to let the cost of the plane ticket stop me from experiencing all that this amazing opportunity has to offer me. Because of this, I would be forever thankful for donations towards this plane ticket, no matter how much!
