Tripping Over My Own Feet
My brother-in-law, Danny Bettis, has been through so much over the past 9 years with diabetes beginning with an impact injury that crushed the mid-bones of his left foot and leading to:
• Loss of career and healthcare
• Persistent sores and infections on both feet
• Recurring SHARCO in both feet (temporary softening of the bones and joints often leading to breaks and dislocations)
• Recurring bouts of MRSA, a potentially deadly, antibiotic-resistant bacteria
• Breakage of bones in left mid-foot
• Dislocation of bones in right foot
• Multiple toe amputations on both feet
• Amputation of 1/2 of the left foot
• Amputation of right lower leg below the knee (7/31/2021)
• Permanent center vision loss in right eye
• Persistent pain, frustration, and financial stress
• Side note: Danny contracted COVID-19, twice in 2021
Danny is one of the strongest and hardworking men I have ever met. Through the past decade he had tried desperately to keep his chin up and provide for his family, while dealing with this series of unfortunate circumstances that would have broken most men, including myself.
We are requesting $20,000 be raised to help keep the lights on and food on the table for the next 4 months, while his right leg heals, he is fitted for a prosthetic, goes through physical therapy, and is able to work again.
Matthew 25:40 "And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Thanks so much!
