Hi all! My name is Beka, I am Kassidy’s cousin. As many of you know, Kassidy and Brandon have been in the hospital for several weeks now. Both Brandon and Kassidy have been spending all their time at the hospital focusing on keeping baby Blake safe and developing! My hope is to help them along the way so the only thing they need to focus on is the health and development of baby Blake. All donations, big or small are so appreciated by myself and the Tripp Family.
A note from Kassidy:
Blake Ariella decided to come very early on October 3, 2020 at 27 weeks and 1 day at 3:16pm. She is about 1.15 lbs today and drinking up to 7.5ml of breast milk every 3 hours. (That’s a bump from 3!)
She already has quite the reputation in the NICU as being very sassy and very strong willed. (I can’t imagine why ) I cannot wait until the day that I can hold her and never put her down. Keep fighting little girl. Yesterday was a high on this roller coaster that we will be on for a long time. I am so proud to be her mama. She is so beautiful, strong and resilient.
When we picked her name I wanted her to have the same initials as her daddy. Brandon was set on the name Blake, which I love because it’s strong and it’s unique. I wanted to find a middle name that I knew would describe her when she came into this world. I fell in love with the name Ariella and the meaning behind it. It means “Lion of God.” Lions are fierce, courageous, bold and beautiful. I knew she would be all of those.
She was born at 27 weeks and 1 day. Psalm 27:1 says “The lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The lord is is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Blake reminds me of this every single day when I feel weak.
There have been so many tears. Happy and sad, but she is the biggest blessing in our life.
Thank you to all of the friends and family that have helped us with so many things during this really difficult time. If you reached out and I haven’t responded I’m sorry, it’s been hectic. If I don’t get back to you until later it’s not because we don’t appreciate you.
With love,
Brandon, Kass & Blake
