Triplets medical and travel expenses

Hi our names are Terry and Ashley Slagle . We normally don’t ask for help but due to unforeseen circumstances we are going to need some. At the beginning of January we were told that we were going to have triplets. This was such a surprise but a blessing. With already having a son and a daughter, Eric (15) and Audrinna (11) we were all excited to bring such blessings into our lives and extend our family. The children were excited to have more siblings and our little family of 4 would quickly grow to a family of 7. Although we were excited we needed to be careful through out the pregnancy. I was considered a High Risk pregnancy due to it was triplets and also due to my age along with other health factors. I had to see not only your normal obgyn but also a fetus specialist  to monitor the triplets due to they were a tri-die pregnancy meaning Stella and Olivia are identical twins and need to be monitored for twin twin transfusion being that they shared the same placenta. Which will cause one twin to get more nutrients then the other. This type of monitoring meant that I went to the obgyn and fetal specialist weekly. On May 16th my water had broke at 28 weeks with spending 5 days in the hospital the doctors tried to do everything they could to make sure I did not deliver too early. With all their best of efforts to prolong me from going into labor and delivering too early it didn’t work. On Sunday May 22nd, the babies arrived at 28 weeks with premature lungs and weighing in at just 3lbs each. With this being said the triplets Stella ,Olivia and Victoria will be in the NICU for an estimate of about 10 weeks. Stella, Olivia and Victoria right now need to be on oxygen, C-pap along with Ng Tube feedings and the bili light for Jaundice. All 3 are being monitored 24/7 due to their prematurity and their heart rates drop unexpectedly low and then need assistance coming back up (this is hard to watch as a parent it’s very scary). Baby Stella is also being monitored for a heart murmur and baby Victoria is being watched due to her lungs being a little more premature then then her two sisters . It is the hardest thing seeing them like this and we can’t even hold them yet to comfort them and love them like any parent would want to do. This is because of all the tubes, wires and Ivs . The NICU for one baby alone is a large expense and we are trying to manage this expense x3. Along with all the medical expenses we also have some traveling expenses. The hospital that Stella, Olivia and Victoria are located in is 1hour away from our home. With the rise in gas prices this is a fairly larger expense in itself. It was the closest hospital with a NICU unit and we will be traveling down daily 1-2x to see our little peanuts until they are able to come home. Which means Terry and I will not be working and only bringing in limited  income. This will be a large financial impact being that we will still need to manage our normal monthly living expenses. If you are able to donate in any way no donation is too big or too small. They say it takes a village to raise a child in our case 3, this statement couldn’t be more true and sometimes it takes a community with that village. Our family will greatly appreciate all your generosity and support. Thank you for listening to our story and god bless.
