Triple Fundraiser for Gretna FC 2008
Donation protected
Hi my name is Ian Norton.
I currently volunteer as a football coach for the clubs youth academy, I also help out with volunteering within the community hub on match days.
I have taken it upon myself to do a fundraiser for the club for a couple of reasons.
1 being the club is a massive part of our family, my wife Stacey works for the club as community Hub Manager and my son Frankie is a member of the youth academy. so I spend a lot of my spare time down at Raydale park. The second reason is for my own personal reasons, I am an EX serving soldier having served 14 years in the British Army, I strive on having something to focus on, lately I can feel myself slipping into a period of laziness, so I would like to take this opportunity to focus on something, and regain a bit of pride about myself. I have done 3 tours of Afghanistan which has given me a total different outlook on life now being a veteran.
This is going to be my BIGGEST challenge to date , this will be a massive physical and mental challenge to myself, as the furthest I have currently done in 1 day is a marathon. I completed the Chester triple medal which was over March, May and October in 2021. I raised over £2000 for this event for Great North Air Ambulance. I would like to hopefully raise more for Gretna FC 2008, as the football club is a massive part of Gretna and surrounding areas community, especially with the youth academy that gives children the journey to first team football. Its a great place and helps keep children off the streets instead of causing mischief. The monies raised through this event will go towards helping improve the clubs facilities, which will benefit the children in the club all the highly respected volunteer's that go out of the way daily to help these children and adults in something they love which is football.
My event consists of,
1000M Swim
10 Mile Bike
19 Mile Run which will finish at Raydale park.
All I ask is for you to support me in my journey, to help me raise as much as possible for the club.
Thank you for reading my story and helping me on my way to my target. Every penny is gratefully appreciated no matter how big or small the donation is.
Many Thanks
