Hello friends and family,
I am asking for your help in covering medical expenses for Trip. We had planned to do another fundraiser but with Covid-19 and social distancing, it just did not work out.
As most of you know, Trip was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in August 2019.
Trip's initial brain surgery went well but on the following morning, he developed a bleed and had to go back
for another brain surgery. Dr. Menendez was able to get the bleeding under control but he did suffer a stroke which has left him paralyzed on his left side.
Trip tolerated chemo and radiation well but about two weeks into the coronavirus quarantine, there were
changes in Trip’s overall status. He experienced a decline in vision (especially on the left side), generalized
weakness, and increased headaches.
The scan done last month showed significant changes even from the MRI that was done in April. These
changes are now known to be a recurrence in the cancer and growth of his tumor around the borders of the original site where it was removed in August 2019. The new plan from the doctors includes stopping chemo
and starting a medication called Avastin.
Trip has continued to work from home with limited responsibilities, but plans to
leave Courier Express this month. The financial burden that comes with all of
these medical expenses is extensive. They don't know when disability will set in
and this has been a huge stressor.
Trip's wife, Courtney, has been the family's rock and light. Her strength, grace and dedication to her boys is
unmatched. They have 3 precious boys....Micah, Sam and Lucas. Trip also has an amazing support group.
Maggie, Will, Zada, and Dewey....your strength, loyalty and love for Trip has shown us all how to love.
Trip is funny, humble, strong, kind and just plain awesome. He is an amazing husband,
father, son, brother, friend, cousin, nephew, and uncle. He is so loved.
Thank you Trip and Courtney for showing us how to choose joy. You are both
the definition of walking in grace.
Thank you for your love and support.
