Habari Gani! What’s the News! Nia!
Friends, family and community,
As a family we have been deeply inspired by our father's unwavering commitment to justice, healing, guiding others through Africentric principles of the Nguzo Saba and advocacy for people of color, I write to you today with a heart full of hope.
Dr. Lewis Dodley, or Baba, a remarkable psychologist and co-creator of SIMBA (Safe In My Brothers Arms) in the ELCAand then is Baba to SIMSA (Safe In My Sisters Arms) has devoted his life to healing several of our communities and fostering a profound sense of self and purpose rooted in our African heritage. He embodies - NIA or purpose that connects with our ancestral roots.
I am excited to share that he has been presented with an incredible opportunity to travel to Zimbabwe Africa in April 2024. This journey represents not only a personal dream but also a chance to deepen an understanding and connection of our collective African heritage and contribute to the global narrative of healing and empowerment.
This is a fundraiser to support his journey, and humbly ask for your support.
Doc would say, “no matter the size, but more importantly your prayers are invaluable to me.”
This is more than just a trip; it's an embodiment of shared dreams and the legacy of a man who has nurtured so many of our hearts and our community.
With heartfelt gratitude - asé!
