Harold (Trip) Lohnes is a father of two small children and a nurse. He works with me for Wellpath in the Correctional system. In February he underwent surgery for tongue cancer and was told he would start treatments of radiation and chemo immediately. However, after surgery the treatments didn’t start as they should have. He called doctors every day and left messages. Finally after four months, new scans were conducted and it was determined the cancer had reoccurred in his throat. Now the doctors have apologized and started treatments. Trip comes to work each day, leaves and drives to Little Rock for treatment then back to Pine Bluff to work. He works as much as possible but isn’t always able to get a full pay check. He works even when he is weak attempting to help provide for his family.  Now the daily trips are an added expense on top of the massive surgery and hospitalization earlier.
