Hi. I’m Dan Holford, the CEO of Trinity Ministries Group Incorporated.  I’m sitting in my office after having done an online tele therapy session.  Four weeks ago in conversation with a therapist who has provided tele therapy for a couple years I expressed I probably wouldn’t ever go that direction.  A lot can happen in four weeks.  The coronavirus pandemic has changed our world.  The anxiety and depression levels people are experiencing are at heightened levels.  The only certainty many people are feeling is uncertainty.  Yet we’re here presenting hope to our community as we have been for 27 years.

I am expressing our need for help to family, friends, and anyone desiring to help others during this extremely difficult time.  With the loss of such a significant number of jobs and accompanying insurance benefits many families and individuals in need of support can avail themselves of our long established scholarship fund that can provide aide for those in need.  Our associates bring great life skills with their growing therapeutic development to provide topnotch services to their clients.  We are coming tele therapy for many people while still offering some face to face meetings for certain clients.  Because of the opportunity many of our staff are taking to do online counseling there aren’t very many people coming into the office at one time.  Your support of any size will help this continue to happen.

While operating on a tight budget we have remained committed to helping our community.  One of the ways we’ve shown that commitment has been training therapists.  Early on in their moving toward licensing we tend to just break even or sometimes lose money because of supervision and support staff costs.  The associates (as interns are now called) can’t usually bill insurance companies for their services.  That means they take reduced fees or are paid through scholarship money that comes in through donations.  A big shout out to Gateway Church for their ongoing help with scholarships, as well as Rise Church, the Christian Reformed Churches of Visalia and Tulare, and Seven Oaks Church for their coming alongside families and individuals in various circumstances on a regular basis.

Another way we help in the community is our Recovery 3.0 12-Step Meetings.  Since January 2019, regular Tuesday night meetings have provided support for people dealing with drug and alcohol issues, codependency struggles, and pornography addiction and other men’s issues.  The unique aspect of this service is the combination of experienced group leaders with years of recovery work in their lives and teaching from licensed staff who have thorough knowledge and experience in recovery work.

Last year in our Go Fund Me campaign a pastor from a nearby community shared his experience from a number of years ago at Trinity Ministries.  A significant number of pastors have come through counseling sessions to find better balance, better boundaries, and better relationships as a result of their investment in therapy.  We’ve enjoyed doing this work because of the way it multiplies our efforts.  Healthier pastors make healthier congregations and community.

We have been incredibly blessed by the donations we’ve received over the years.  At least four times, substantial gifts were given by people who explained that they felt prompted by God to give.  In each of those situations, their timely gifts helped us pull through difficult financial situations.  Overall however it has been the accumulated giving of a lot of family, friends, and acquaintances that have had lasting effect.  You can support Trinity Ministries by posting this Go Fund Me Campaign on your Facebook page.  That helps get the word out to more people about Trinity Ministries Group and what we’re doing.  It will also help us enlist potential donors who want to help give back to the community.
