Tril for the trail

Hey Folks! We are seven Hikers and two mighty dogs Ala and Trilldina, trying to get to Mount Katahdin, Maine, 2197 miles from Georgia. We’re thruhiking on the Appalachian trail and currently we are 1823 miles away from our goal. Tragically this morning as we were swimming in the river at Uncle Johnny’s hiker hostel, Trildina our prized pupper, went out from the river following a friend and got run over by a car. She is stable but is badly injured, we ran from one hospital to another from Uncle Johnny’s to Asheville, Tennessee in the last 3 hours. Gizmo, his owner already spend 2.800 dollars in X-ray and exams, but there is still gonna be more and she needs our help. Her diagnostic right now is that she has 3 broken ribs, a dislocated hip, and an air bubble in her chest cavity. She need to be monitored 24/7 for the next 48 hours and will update on her condition as soon as possible. Every help matters. We hope to have her back to runnning in the mountains again taking care of all of us soon.

05/28/24 update

Condition update:

Trill has been in the hospital for the past 4 days. She has broken ribs and is recovering slowly.

She has been sent home for a few days in till she has to go back in for surgery.

The name of the procedure is an FHO and she will be in tremendous pain and unable to walk properly until it is done.

Cost update.

We have spent $4700 total for hospitalization, transportation and treatment

The surgery will cost about $5500 for the procedure, hospitalization, medicine, and transport.
