Tricia Montoya: Battling a Lifelong Disease
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Ruthie Garza and I am raising money for my friend Patricia "Tricia" Montoya and her family in this desperate time of need. Tricia has had psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis since she was a teenager. This disease is very unpredictable, and when it attacks, it is truly damaging. I have witnessed it with my own eyes and would never wish it upon anyone!
Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis that affects some people who have psoriasis — a condition that features red patches of skin topped with silvery scales. Most people develop psoriasis first and are later diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, but the joint problems can sometimes begin before skin patches appear.
Tricia has courageously dealt with her condition without ever complaining about it. Many people are not aware of her pain and suffering because of the fact she is always helping others in countless ways, and always with a joke and a smile on her face. Although she manages to hide her discomfort, her husband David and children Chris, Brianna, Vincent and Vanessa have suffered right along with her throughout the years.
Tricia is currently experiencing the worse flare-up ever. She was ordered to stop taking her medication due to Covid-19, for fear her immune system might shut down and the possibility of getting the virus. Without her medication, this disease took complete control of her entire body. Tricia is in El Paso at Las Palmas Hospital. She was in the ICU unit for a couple of days because her heart rate was intense due to the infection in her body. She was septic but with antibiotics has improved and her heart rate is also improving. Doctors are wanting to transfer her to Lubbock, Texas to the burn unit, as her face and body are severely inflamed and burnt from the illness.
Although everything I have told you is painful to intake, the worst is that Tricia is unable to have her loved ones by her side, due to the coronavirus. It breaks my heart to hear my friend cry and to know the pain she is suffering, in more ways than one. My goal is to raise money to help the family with doctor bills and traveling expenses. I pray to God for my friend, her family, and to all of you who are understanding and giving. I think we can all agree, Tricia is loving, caring, and would give to any of us in time of need.
Thank You So, So Much!
God Bless You and Keep You Safe!
