Tricia and Annie Fire Fund

Donation protected
As many of you know, Tricia and Annie have had a challenging year. On June 22, 2016, a roof fire in the condo building where they live  caused extensive smoke and water damage, destroying all sixteen units.  The building must practically be rebuilt to meet current building codes.  This means that Tricia, Annie and their neighbors won't be able to return to their homes until  early 2018.

Then, six months afer the fire, on January 1, 2017  they got the bad news that , despite Annie's grueling 15 month treatment in 2014/2015 for the childhood cancer neuroblastoma, Annie had a relapse of the disease.   She is currently in treatment at Mass General Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering.   This energetic, brave, strong, willfull and spirited seven year old is meeting this new physical challenge head on and is continuing to fight for her life.

Because Annie's  treatment will require some daily visits along with several inpatient admissions and so they can be near her doctors in case of emergency, Tricia and Annie are living in a temporary apartment near the hospital until their home is rebuilt.   It is a safe and loving environment for the two of them, not far from Annie's school, Tricia's job and their fire damaged condo.

Due to the highly valued rental market in Boston and the fact that it will be close to 18 months of temporary housing,  Tricia will drain their insurance resources for housing in April 2017, nearly a year before they can move back home.

Many people have asked how they can help.  Some have already donated to a leave bank at MGH where Tricia works. This enables her to take paid time off to be with Annie during her treatment.

This Go Fund Me Page is asking for funds to help pick up the difference in the temporary housing cost from April  until they can move home in early 2018.

Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated, as are your prayers.
